One more week!!!! We got a lot done in this week’s meeting, but there is still just a little left to be worked out we start putting boards together! See below for what still needs to be done, and who’s homework responsibility it is. We are going to be in such fantastic shape if all […]
If we were really in studio, we’d be about to pull some all-nighters…lets load up on the coffee friends. We’ve got one more meeting to try and get all the drawings done that we can!! (And some time outside of ACE for all you wonderful overachievers!) I unfortunately had to miss ACE last week for
In Team 4, we presented ideas for exterior materials for the project, a school dormitory. The presentation included information about the types of exterior materials and an idea for the shape of our building. Buildings such as the Aqua Tower and the Shanghai Tower were presented in the presentation. We discussed the pros and cons
The students spent the week refining our floor plans. One of our design students volunteered to take the hand drawn plans and bring them into Revit so the group could later coordinate with Structure and MEP trades. The small groups broke out again to further develop the floors they worked on. The engineering students learned
There’s a lot of coordination going on right now. So, we’re starting to get parts of a building decided and designed. We’re moving columns, punching windows, and modeling new spaces. Sweet, sweet progress. We’re starting to turn program into spaces. Putting structural alteration into reality (metaphorically?). And by-George, we’re getting a Starbucks. (I’m mean isn’t that what it’s really always been about – our caffeine dependency? We have to get through architecture school somehow…see below…) http://www.lifeofanarchitect.com/architects-and-coffee/ Nonetheless, over the next week, in anticipation of our
