Parents & Teachers: What is the Chicago ACE Mentor Program?
The ACE Mentor Program is a great opportunity for young people interested in architecture, design, engineering and construction. Through ACE, young people can explore the various career paths within the building industry, while being mentored by professionals from the biggest firms in the city. Students who participate in our school year, After-School program are eligible for a variety of awards including: college scholarships, paid summer internships, our Design/Build Workshop and various college summer camps. Consideration for these awards is based on student engagement, attendance and demonstrated interest in ACE related college and careers.
For Parents
The ACE Mentor Chicago program is free for all qualifying students. If your child is interested in ACE Mentor Chicago but does not come from a participating school, that’s fine. Individual students are welcome to register for the program and will be notified of their selection later in fall. If registrations exceed capacity, preference will be given to students in Chicago Public Schools.
For Teachers
To recruit students, we work primarily with teachers and other school champions who refer students to the program. We like to build relationships directly with schools. If you would like to be added to our mailing list, or have additional questions, contact Krisann Rehbein.
To be eligible for the program:
- Students must be at least sophomores in high school. Juniors and seniors are given first choice if space is limited.
- Priority is given to students in the Chicago Public Schools and those living in the city of Chicago.
- Students must be able to travel to and from the ACE sessions and arrive at the start time of 5:00.
