The students spent the week refining our floor plans. One of our design students volunteered to take the hand drawn plans and bring them into Revit so the group could later coordinate with Structure and MEP trades. The small groups broke out again to further develop the floors they worked on.
The engineering students learned about foundation design and mechanical unit placement and chase sizes. Its surprising how big these things are, huh? Our construction mentors talked with the construction students about site logistics and crane logistics for our highly constricted site. We finished the meeting with a coordination meeting that cause the design to be reconsidered: if we build to the property line, the crane will be unable to fit on our site, the students decided to shift the lobby wall north by a few feet to create the proper clearance.
