The Santa Lucia Giardino Team (ACE Design-Build Students) are very happy to report that we have FINALLY begun construction on site! On July 30 +31, students and instructors travelled to the Santa Lucia site with hard hats and work gloves to begin the formwork. Luckily, concrete donations (thanks CPMH + Ozinga!) allowed us to quickly create the formwork, move the leftover concrete to the alley, and remove the shed. On July 31, concrete was poured at 3:30pm, how exciting! Although it was a close finish, we all had fun doing hands-on building. Next, we fabricated bench tops and wall protection at the Curie Woodshop 🙂
