This week’s meeting began at Power’s field office for the new Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago building in Streeterville. During dinner, we saw a quick presentation about the project background. We then donned our hard hats and safety glasses and headed a few blocks over to the construction site entrance.
We took the elevator lift up to the future RIC sky lobby level, which is a two-story area that will eventually include an outdoor garden area with impressive views of the skyline. We discussed some of the key features of the building construction and learned about a number of things, including curtain walls, utility duct banks, and crane maneuvering and staging.
Happy holidays to everyone! We will see the team again on Wednesday, January 7th at AS+GG’s office. Happy 2015!!
