Career Fair, How, Where, What…
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
-Eleanor Roosevelt
What: Career Path Presentations + Discussion Activities
Where: Sargent & Lundy, 55 East Monroe Street, Floor 35
When: Thursday, November 10, 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Why: This week was all about discussing options for a career path in Architecture, Construction, and Engineering. We heard a synopsis from each company that explained a personal professional experience. As was determined after the career presentations, there are many ways to end up doing what ACE mentors do. Some people took detours to pursue other passions. Some people engrossed themselves in school or extracurricular activities or study abroad opportunities or internships! So many possibilities. The best advice was to stay active and involved in as many things as possible in college. You never know what might spark your interest or open a door to a world of possibilities.
The second part included a round of musical chairs as we delved into topics (different at each table) such as Resumes and Cover Letters, Study Abroad and Internships, Scholarships, Extra-Curricular Activities, and moving from College to a Career. Thanks everyone for great questions and topics of discussion!
