OMG LEGOS.  I seriously love Lego’s – they’re the best.  But I’m getting ahead of myself – we met at the Arcadis office and got to experience yet another piece of the ACE pie.  While I continue to hound Paul for a copy of the owner’s rep presentation, the job of the owner’s rep is both simple in one sense, and totally multifaceted in another.

In very basic terms, an owner’s rep (in relation to the design and construction industry) is someone who works with the owner’s best interests in mind to organize and guide the owner into making advantageous decisions regarding budgeting, aesthetics, and timeliness of their architectural endeavor.  I don’t know about you guys, but I can hardly balance a checkbook, so this process can get complicated really fast.  It was easy to see during our communication (LEGOS!) activity that it can become a really convoluted game of telephone!  But with a little hard work and refinement to your forms of interaction, some good looking projects came to fruition.

For next week, please, please, please, bring your permission forms or you can’t come hang out with us.  So click HERE, get your form, make sure you’ve buttered up your parental unit, and get them to sign away your firstborn child, and then come on this field trip.  It will be a ton of fun, despite the fact that I really have no idea what we’ll be doing.  Hope to see everyone on Thursday!
